As part of the final year summative assessment, the 10th grade students of Kolese Loyola presented a puppet show that addressed the themes of global warming and climate change. This performance took place in a small puppet theater, where all the students took turns performing the stories they had created using puppets and various properties. Ms. Carolina Yuni Rahastri Kusumarani, the English teacher, was responsible for overseeing this assessment and ensuring that each student had the opportunity to perform and narrate the story they created. Through this puppet show, the students’ speaking skills, especially in public speaking, were honed.
This activity reflects Kolese Loyola’s commitment to produce graduates who are not only academically intelligent but also environmentally conscious. By highlighting the themes of global warming and climate change, it is hoped that students will gain a deeper understanding of the real impacts of rising global temperatures and climate change. In addition, the school hopes they will be encouraged to become agents of change in society. Loyola College High School continually strives to educate students to become individuals who care about their surroundings and take responsibility for the environment.
